Blackpool Pleasure Beach is a very famous theme park within Blackpool. Which remains Britain’s number one tourist attraction. With over 6.2 million visitors now. Alderman William George Bean founded Pleasure Beach, Blackpool in 1896 and bought the forty two acre site on which the Pleasure Beach now stands. He wanted an American Style Amusement Park, the fundamental principle of which is to make adults feel like children again. Rides include the “The Pepsi Max Big One” which is the largest roller coaster in the theme park and one the largest in Britain and the still popular Sir Hiram Maxim Flying Machines, were introduced to the area.blackpool-beachThe First World War curtailed further development of the site until 1921. And the Second World War once again put a temporary halt to the progress.
